Pensacola Prep

The countdown has started, and I have 10 weeks left in Florida before I head out. That means, I need to get my shit together and start getting the truck prepped. I recently ordered an offroad bumper with a winch mount from Coastal Offroad. They are a sweet little company out of British Columbia that offers non-assembled bumpers for a cheap rate. The entire bumper plus shipping came out to around $600 dollars (American). Just make sure if you go this route that you have an address that’s easy to access, as they were heavy enough to make FedEx hate our address. Also you either need to know how to weld, or pay to have a professional assemble it. I’m going with the latter option. I’ll note here that it only took 10 days from ordering until this thing showed up at my door. Super classy business.

Two 60-ish pound boxes that my dad bitched about hard bringing inside.
A much lighter, yet oddly shaped package included the grill guard.

Also with this bumper, I was able to snag a 10,000lb winch off of Facebook marketplace. Another $600 and I’ll most likely not get stuck anywhere that has trees. Bringing the winch inside off the porch also made my dad bitch at me. I think he’s more excited for my truck to be finished than I am. Mostly because all of my belongings are taking up an entire room in his house.

Everything I own in a corner of my dad’s house. Hurricane Michael decided to make my life difficult by putting a tree through my rental’s roof, so everything is currently piled here to avoid mold and mildew.

That’s all I have for now. Will be working on a solar setup soon, plus new suspension and tires for the truck. Will update more when I get more done! Also, I’m open to suggestions for good suspension kits and tires. I’m thinking of a 2″ lift for the front (Fox) and a 1″ leaf spring for the back. Thanks!

Hello world!

Picked a website name and trying to figure everything out! Who knew there could be so many options? Still currently employed and working from Pensacola, as my apt in Panama City was becoming unlivable with the hurricane damage. So glad boss lady is letting me work remotely! It was that or try the Tundra out and live in the office parking lot. Leave date for the trip is set for March 4th. More soon!
