The world is big and I want to have a good look before it gets dark
– John Muir
Life is short, right? I’m coming to terms with what I want out of life, work, and my future. I’m seriously concerned with the whole “work until you’re 65” proposal that is seemingly expected, so I’m setting out to try a different option. But seriously, what if I can’t walk when I’m 65? What if a bus hits me while drunkenly crossing the street from one pub to another? What if my cat secretly poisons me every night little by little, and that’s why every morning she sits on my chest and stares at me for an ungodly amount of time? Is she actually just seeing if I’m still breathing? Did the poison set in this time? Maybe it needs just one more night….
Regardless of my awful assassin cat, you get the point. I’m quitting my job and setting out to explore North America out of my 2006 Toyota Tundra. One National Park and dive bar at a time. Mostly to see one tiny fraction of the universe before I croak, but also to marvel at some of our National treasures (if they are open…). I’m incredibly concerned with how our government is currently managing our public lands, and I’m honestly terrified about global climate change. I’d like to experience the remaining wonders that are left before they are given away, melt away, or both.
Thanks for checking out my blog! Website creation is new to me, so sorry if none of this makes any sense. I’m learning as I go.
